Welcome ...Craft collectors, buyers, and anyone interested in finding craft made in rural Virginia. Whether you are searching for a gift, stocking a gallery half way across the world, or simply planning a scenic day trip, the Alleghany Craft Network will prove to be one of your important information resources.
Here you will find artisans and craft galleries, festivals and more located in the western part of Virginia. Included are the rural areas of Alleghany, Augusta, Bath, Botetourt, Craig, Highland, Roanoke, Rockbridge and Rockingham counties. Click these links to read what people are saying about the project, a note from the sponsor and the special exhibition.
To view the nearly 300 listings with images , simply click the map of Virginia above which opens the Regional Directory.* (PDF, approx. 4.2mb) Alternately if you have a dial-up connection, or interest in a particular county, you might want to begin by clicking on the smaller individual county links. County Directories with a large number of listings will take longer to load than those for counties with only a few listings.
News Extras ... Be sure to visit the News Room to read brief articles about a number of people in the Directory who wrote to tell us more about their work. (Media representatives please click here.) * If the words in the large PDF file are garbled, please click here for help. The final version of the directory was posted July 15, 2008. The links above represent entries received from January 2007 until the deadline period in early July 2008. You will need the Adobe Acrobat Reader to view the Directory.
