Jury Waiver PolicyACV has established a policy and procedures by which the jury process for “Juried Virginia Artisan” status may be waived for current and new members. This policy is aimed at those artisans who have already demonstrated proficiency at their craft by participating in the recognized juried fine craft shows.
Additions of qualifying events are added based on show ratings in “Sunshine Artist Audit Book” and other accepted publications at the discretion of the Standards Committee. A waiver may be issued if an artisan has participated in at least three of the shows listed below in the last five years. Documentation is required.
Artisans seeking “Juried Virginia Artisan” status will be assessed the same fee ($25) whether applying through the original review process or by waiver. This fee will be a one-time charge to defray the costs of certificates, posting of web site images, and other costs associated with administering basic jury status. Each artisan will be required to submit an artist statement and slide images for archival purposes and for web posting.
