I am a full time father with two daughters and part time potter. I am currently doing a few craft shows during the year and hope to develop a personal web site to further display my work.
Most of my pottery is made on a wheel. I fire the finished work in an electric kiln to cone 10. This makes for very strong stoneware and porcelain pieces. All of the glazes are safe for food use. I am constantly working to develop new glazes that have color and character while maintaining their practicality.
I like the functionality of pottery and I use what I make. Sometimes many uses can be applied to the same pot. I particularly like old jugs and crocks and I make my own that are sized for modern use and a crock that even includes a recipe for sauerkraut!
I will not sell a pot that I do not like. If it does not meet my standards I will smash it. The pots I make are intended to last and enjoy daily use. Why not eat a sandwich off of a work of art? Life moves fast and it is worth the time to slow down and enjoy the simple acts of daily living. My girls prove that every day. Please contact me if you are interested in seeing more of my work or would like to set up a wedding or gift registry.
